As the league puts 2020 in the rearview mirror and focuses on it's affiliates and goals, Matt Morse of SoCal Premier, and now the NISA Western Region Rep. steps in to set the course. With ambitions to match their peers in the Eastern Premier Soccer League, Mountain Premier League is set on providing the FIFA and USASA multi-state league standards for the much needed regional play in the Rocky Mountain territory of Region 4. With strong teams showing interest in Utah and Idaho, Denver is the center of attention for this meeting. Ideally the league looks to host 4-6 teams in the Eastern Division of Colorado, Wyoming and New Mexico. A division that if found popular could split into a North and South to provide less distance for travel dates. While the Western Division of Utah and Idaho can host a similar number of teams for the 2021-22 season that is set to launch in August and run through May/June of 2022 with a winter break November - February. 16 teams will be needed to play from 4 state associations with a minimum of 2 teams from 3 different state associations. MPL is expected to have competitive fee structure to that of the USASA State Premier Leagues. Teams who do not have hosting venues will be provided venues by the league as well as gameballs and referee fees will be included in the league fee. Payment plan options will also be available. Vested ownership groups will be provided shares of the league after 2 years of good standing. All teams will be required to vote and select representatives to serve on the board of directors. The Western Division meeting is scheduled for Utah in late June - early July. Email Matt for virtual attendance options mmorse@nisasoccer.com .
