Denver, Colorado — The Mountain Premier League (MPL) has officially opened registration for the upcoming Fall season, marking a significant step forward in its mission to build a sustainable, connected, and competitive regional soccer ecosystem across the Rocky Mountain region.
As part of its continued growth, MPL is introducing a restructured league fee model for the Eastern Conference designed to support long-term club stability while lowering barriers to entry for new and developing teams. This initiative is a cornerstone of the league’s Team Sustainability Movement, which empowers clubs to launch, grow, and sustain operations while remaining connected to a national league pathway.
Under the new structure, teams will benefit from a progressive fee model:
- Year 1: $500 per team per season
- Year 2: $1,000 per team per season
- Years 3–5: $1,500 per team per season
After five years, league fees are waived entirely, provided teams maintain good standing and participate in at least one season per year. Each team’s status is independent and does not transfer between organizations, reinforcing accountability and long-term commitment.
Teams that maintain good standing for four consecutive seasons will earn “vested status,” granting them a formal vote on league matters and the ability to propose changes through their conference representative on the MPL Board. This governance model ensures that committed clubs have a direct voice in shaping the future of the league.
In addition to structural changes, MPL continues to deliver significant value to participating teams. League fees now include:
- Eight FIFA-stamped Select match balls
- Practice bibs for team use
- A 50% discount through the Select Sport America team store
This package represents an approximate retail value of $1,200, reinforcing MPL’s commitment to reinvesting in its member clubs.
Beginning this Fall, MPL will also expand to three competitive seasons per calendar year. Player passes will be reduced to $25 per season, resetting each season to maintain flexibility and accessibility for players and teams alike.
As always, Mountain Premier League teams will benefit from partnerships with league sponsors, receiving access to products and support throughout the year to enhance both performance and operations.
Additionally, referee dues will continue to be invoiced directly on a monthly basis. The monthly billing ensures a healthy team cash flow spreading out payments to the entirety of a season. This should create flexibility and opportunity for fundraising, sponsorship activations, and player fee collection for each team operator.
“The goal is simple,” said Kian Kohan. “We are building a league where clubs can realistically start, grow, and sustain themselves over time—while staying connected to something bigger. This model rewards commitment, provides real value, and gives clubs a voice.”
Fall registration is now open. Clubs interested in joining the Mountain Premier League are encouraged to secure their place and become part of a growing movement redefining regional soccer.
